Last year's celebration was the largest in the country, with over 350 people gathered to celebrate our community's Latinx physicians, as well as to raise awareness to the critical shortage of Latinx physicians, who make up only 6% of all physicians in the US. National Latino Physician Day, observed on October 1st, is a call to action to improve the quality of care for the United States Latino patient population by increasing the number of physicians who can provide culturally and linguistically concordant care. This year's keynote speakers will include Dr. Michael Galvez, co-founder of the National Latino Physician Day movement, and Dr. David Hayes-Bautista, Director of the Center for Study of Latino Health and Culture at UCLA School of Medicine. This event is open to the public and all ages are invited to attend!
